journal that won't kidnap & kill you...

take two... @ 07:58 pm

Argh. Does anyone know the trick to getting it to work for usernames that are the same? I'm having no problem posting to my livejournal (storydivagirl), my greatest journal (dastardlyspoon) and my insanejournal (tommygirl). But journalfen is also tommygirl. Ack.

Well, I guess it's cool. The ones I mostly wanted to do cross-posting to was livejournal/insanejournal for the time being.

Why must I be so technologically stupid?

oh day... @ 01:17 pm

Current Mood: blah

I have downloaded the first two episodes of the Two Coreys because I was madly in love with Corey Haim when I was younger (Lucas, Lost Boys, License to Drive) and Corey Feldman is like watching a car wreck. I feel guilty, but can't stop looking.

Also had to download Fallen from Family Channel because my stupid electricity was out most of Sunday...so hopefully I'll have some time to watch that in the next few days.

**

while I like that greatest journal gives us 2000 icon spaces and such, I have to admit that I'm more partial to insanejournal if I had to choose. It's just easier to navigate for me and I don't have those stupid ads.

But yeah, it might make me a horrible person, but I'm still not quite ready to leave livejournal behind. I'll probably just be more cautious with fic for the time - probably posting it to my insane journal and just linking to it other places.

I'm giving a new show a go... @ 06:20 pm

Current Mood: awake
Current Music: life on mars on the tv

Livejournal is up to their tricks again. Just clarify things. I don't think that's too much to ask for. Set out a definitive TOS and then people (fandom, in particular) can decide if livejournal is where they want to remain.

**

I downloaded series one of Life on Mars and just started it. Pilot is interesting if not weird. But friends rave about it so I shall continue on for at least a bit longer and see if I get sucked in. I'll probably get sucked in.

**

Went to a book sale and then Borders with the mother this afternoon. My mother convinced me to purchase a few of the Nora Roberts' trilogies of books that they had. Then I picked up the Maximum Ride books at Borders. I was hoping that maybe they had Eclipse out early, but they didn't. So I'll have to go back on Tuesday to pick that up. New Bella and Edward! Yay!

**

In case you are wondering who has you friended, I go by storydivagirl on livejournal, tommygirl on insane journal and journalfen.

Dear week,

You are not impressing me so far. I demand a redo. Also, if you could return my ability to sleep, think, and write, I would appreciate it.

No Love,

Any one else watching Shark Week on the Discovery Channel? I also finally managed to view the Lost Queen of Egypt special I had recorded on Discovery earlier in the month. It was quite interesting and with DNA and a bunch of other scientific tests they were able to find her missing mummified body (which had just been kicking it in the Egypt Museum). It did make me wonder if people who live in these areas are unaffected by things like pyramids and mummies, much like I don't get all that excited about Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Also, Josh Bernstein has a new show on Discovery, my friends! I love Digging for the Truth, so I hope he's still doing that, but I'll watch this new special on the weather he has. I love him.

I'm way too addicted to Discovery and History channel.

tv is my happy place... @ 01:05 pm

Current Mood: frustrated
Current Music: "Sad Songs" Elton John

Does anyone else watch Last Comic Standing? The semi-finals ended last night. I must say that I was much happier with this batch of five than I was with the first batch. I swear, I think they pick some unfunny people (the perky cat lady, for example) simply because of the living together part...and that annoys me because I'm watching this show for good comedy not reality tv drama. Le sigh.

There were a few truly hysterical people. Dave Benson always cracks me up so I'm glad he's gone through, but I love the little British guy, Matt. He's the maddest comedy.

**

Feel free to prod me at any time that I should be writing or doing something a little bit more productive than pondering Last Comic Standing.

stupid livejournal... @ 08:39 pm

Current Mood: frustrated
Current Music: "I'll Stand By You" Carrie Underwood

You know between the livejournal strikeout stuff and the way they're down all the time lately (all the time = whenever *I* want to use, which is most important), I'm glad I didn't spring for the permanent account.

Maybe this is a sign that I should be writing, but I'll probably go continue reading Nineteen Minutes, which I picked up from the library yesterday. I go through weird bursts of cycles where I like to focus on different things - reading books, reading fanfiction, and writing. For some reason I haven't be able to do them all at the same time lately. I think I'm broken.

**

So my take on General Hospital - Night Shift is that I think I like it more than the daily show. Mostly because it heavily features Robin/Patrick and they're the reason I pretty much still tune into GH. Alas next week it looks like they're bringing Liz into the mix, which means I have to deal with Liz & Jason's drama and ugh. I just dislike Liz a great deal and it makes me dislike Jason, which I haven't done since he got all brain damaged and hot.

I think someone should write me a fic where Dean explains to Sam the current storyline on his favorite soap opera. And Sam just looks at him with the bitch face and says, "What the hell is wrong with you? We've got demons to hunt and you want to watch General Hospital?" And Dean just shrugs and says, "But Jax has gone missing!"

I think I need help.

days go by so fast... @ 10:24 am

Current Mood: groggy
Current Music: "Gone"

Tuesday morning is upon me and my energy level is null. There is writing I want/should be doing. I'm really in the mood to write some Sam & Dean, but I just have no energy. This is not good. I'm finally over the pile of work that was keeping me busy last week and have some down time, but no interest in getting anything accomplished.

le sigh.

**

I loved Sunday night's Entourage, mostly because I love Eric and Vince and their friendship.

Spoilers for the episode... )

**

I'm almost caught up on Burn Notice, which I'm adoring. Seriously, USA has most of my favorite shows - Psych, 4400, Burn Notice. Other networks should take stock of the stuff that USA chooses to put on. It's funny and smart.

Anyway, I love Michael and his relationships with Fi, Sam, and his mother. I love that he's using all these skills to help people who would otherwise be screwed because he has no fear...and I'm enjoying the slow unraveling of who put the burn notice on him and why.

Alas, I started this past week's episode, but my DVR didn't record the last twenty minutes...so I must wait for the repeat of it later in the week. Stupid dvr.

**

Other than that, I have been watching season one of Supernatural again. Also thinking up all these different AU ideas for Dean Winchester (that probably will never get written) because I love him and love to insert him into my other favorite fandoms - plus there is something incredibly hot about the idea of spy!Dean. It's right up there with my love of Daddy!Dean.

**

Feel free to throw drabble prompts at me as maybe that will get the brain moving. My fandoms are in my user info!

no idea if livejournal is still down... @ 07:29 pm

Current Mood: bitchy
Current Music: "sweet home alabama"

So if one is already behind on her friends list and LJ is down, does that make it better or worse for said person? Not that I've tried loading it since I got home from work. I'm thinking of just curling up in my bed with some reading and maybe catch up on a few of the things kicking it on my DVR.

Random Annoyance of the Day: Stupid Tivo got me all excited about this promotion by emailing me these things about upgrading my box AND carrying over it's lifetime contract to new box for only$ 299.00. So I go to try to put the order through only to find out that I bought the Tivo box in question ONE MONTH before the promo is effective for. Argh. That sucks. I was all excited about the prospect of a new tivo. One should not play with a tv addict's head like that.

Is livejournal acting up for anyone else? I've been busy all day and the first few minutes of breathing time I get...it won't load the page. This makes me sad.

tuesdays are no fun... @ 01:13 pm

Current Mood: blah
Current Music: "Sweet Dreams"

One thing I truly love about Greatest Journal is the number of icons that I can have. While I have absolutely no talent whatsoever in making graphics, I love pretty icons, especially when they feature my favorite things.

And right now one of my most favorite things is Flight of the Conchords. I managed to get a hold of a copy of their documentary and it's awesome. It's them at the music festival in Texas doing their stuff and trying to move ahead with their band. I love Bret and Jemaine so much. And if you haven't watched their show on HBO yet, I highly recommend you check it out. It's hysterical.

Also loving Entourage. Sunday night's episode cracked me up. Between Drama going to the doctor so he could get a medical marijuana card and the Billy & Eric fights...I laughed a lot. Seriously, I love Vince, Eric, Turtle and Drama. I really love Ari, who can be so evil and wonderful at once.

I gave one of those new Lifetime shows, Side of Life, a try. It had Jason Priestley and I loved him as Brandon Walsh when I was in high school...but alas, the first episode didn't intrigue me at all. Really couldn't care less about any of the characters.

**

I actually did some writing on Sunday, but not enough. It seems my to-do list keeps getting longer, but I'm not crossing anything off it. I really need to work on that.

**

In case anyone is a reader and interested, I can be found on Good Reads here. It's quite an addictive way to keep track of books you've read/want to read.

life goes on around me... @ 12:40 pm

Current Mood: confused
Current Music: none

I'm not dead, I just feel like it.

Life is happening around me and I'm slowly playing catch up. It doesn't help that summer television is in full effect at the moment. While I'm happy to have new shows to enjoy, there is something to be said about summers free of new programming as it's a chance to get caught up on other things. Like reading. (Though, I'm not doing too shabby for the year - if you're interested, I'm on goodreads.com as Tommygirl. Feel free to friend or peruse.)

Entourage is getting back to its awesomeness. I still enjoyed the second half of season three, but it wasn't as great as the rest of the series. Now it seems to be back on track and really focusing on the guys as a unit and their careers within the business. Though does anyone know what happened to Turtle's sorta girlfriend? Is she just gone?

Flight of the Conchords is my new favorite thing ever! I love Jemaine and Bret, with a little extra for Jemaine because he's adorable. I had seen their comedy act on Comedy Central awhile ago and enjoyed it, but the show uses their act in such a fun way. I just love it.

Tomorrow I get to see the new Harry Potter movie and then the final book comes out in another two weeks at midnight. I'm very excited and a little sad for the end of the books.

Current Mood: crazy
Current Music: "Summer Love" Justin Timberlake

Livejournal is giving me a hard time again. It did this yesterday whenever I tried to click on someone's cut tag. I do not have the patience for this today. It's gross out. My allergies are bad. I'm sleepy.

Couldn't life (and therefore livejournal) simply work out well today?

**

I don't know if I've mentioned my great love of The Colbert Report recently and it deserves to be repeated often. Steven Colbert is awesome. He makes me laugh. But the best is when he makes himself laugh.

And I always knew that dolphins couldn't be trusted! I'm with you Steven!

**

Am behind on most of my summer television shows for no real reason except that I haven't felt like watching much. Instead I've been reading or just sleeping, both lovely things. And it's not that I don't want to watch entourage or 4400, but it seems like attention I don't have to give to anything at the moment.

tv watching woes @ 11:27 am

Current Mood: apathetic

I'd be a much happier girl if this day went faster. My head is killing me and I didn't get a good night's sleep.

I'm so far behind on television at the moment. how is it that even in the summer I can't get caught up? I'm also a tad bit disappointed as I moved deadliest catch season one to the top of my netflix queue, but someone else has it. So they sent me My Name Is Earl disc one instead.

Though who am I to judge someone else having what I want. I've had Red Dwarf series four for over a month now and I haven't even started it. I blame this on the fact that it's so damn good. Because once I start, I end up going through all the episodes. Fortunately, a series for this show is about six episodes. My sister and I have been talking about buying the entire series box set, but decided to wait until we got through it all. Some of the reviews are mixed as you get further into the series. But the first three were the maddest comedy. Loved it.

I think I need to make a television to do list. So very sad. the logical answer would be to give up some shows, but I'm rarely, if ever, logical.

Where can a girl find Prince Harry and/or Prince William icons?

newest addictions... @ 09:38 am

Current Mood: blah

I am loving Traveler. Sure, it's only had two episodes, but it's interesting and has hot boys! Really, that's sometimes all I need. Tyler and Jake are just so damn cute and trying to figure out why Will chose them is an interesting mystery to unravel. Plus, was he in the building? Did he escape and has disappeared into his own life? Who was he working for?

And 4400, Psych, and Entourage both have new seasons getting underway in June, which makes me incredibly happy. Sure, I might have to wait until end of September for new Heroes and Supernatural, but I have summer shows to hold me over. How did one survive before the advent of summer shows? Did we all just not watch television? Watch repeats?

**

I am addicted to the idea of 2000 icon slots. That's a lot of pop culture and celebrity obsessions to have represented. I think I need to find some icons from Traveler if they exist.

**

Monday mornings are the bane of my existence, especially rainy mondays. There should be laws against them.

I really just want an excuse to use the icon... @ 04:20 pm

Current Mood: amused

Livejournal seems to have calmed down a bit since the apology and journals being undeleted (is that a word?), but I will proceed with caution for awhile. Instead, I will use the awesome icons made by Ginger to amuse myself.

Pirates tonight! Woo-hoo! I can't wait.

Then I plan to spend a good portion of the weekend writing. So much to do.

who I am... @ 03:21 pm

In case you stumble upon this journal and wondered why I friended you, chances are good that I either 1) know you from livejournal (I'm storydivagirl there) or 2) found you interesting.

Friend/defriend, comment/don't comment, whatever floats your boat, really.

I should be writing at the moment, but I'm not in the mood. I'm in one of those moods where I don't particular want to do anything and everything I think of to do, just doesn't appeal to me.

so.... @ 10:06 am

Current Mood: bitchy

Depending how things play out with livejournal the next few days, I may end up moving some of my stories over here for the time being. Le sigh.

**

Finally was able to get a hold of the remaining episodes of The Black Donnellys for viewing. I'm both excited and saddened. I truly enjoyed this show and I wish we were getting more episodes. I just don't think NBC was ever a good fit for that show.

Tonight is the premiere of Traveler. Woo-hoo. I watched this pilot last summer and enjoyed it a great deal and finally we get some episodes. Hopefully it does well and actually grows from the pilot. Nothing more frustrating than a show with a good pilot that turns to crap.

**

Still haven't seen Pirates as I was waiting for the best friend. Hopefully, we're seeing it this Friday night. Captain Jack! Will! Norrington! All so very pretty.

I've been loving you for such a long, long time... @ 05:35 pm

Current Mood: depressed
Current Music: "Never Again"

I have survived all my season finales except for Veronica Mars at the moment. That said, I'm a bit behind on VM anyway and as it's a series finale, I'm just not sure how I feel.

Supernatural was awesome. Answered so many questions and then raised a new story arc for the next season to go on. Plus, Dean Winchester just owns me. Sammy is great and wonderful, but he is no Dean Winchester.

Heroes may have caused my brain to explode all over the place. And since it's full of gross, icky sinus stuff, it wasn't pleasant.

Ugly Betty went in a direction I did not expect. It was good, but dammit, I was not expecting that ending. And Henry must come back. I love Henry.

Here's to hoping I can use the summer to actually get caught up on my reading and movie watching as I was a tad bit into television this year. Heh.

May 17th, 2007

short and sweet... @ 11:17 am

I am now addicted to the show Deadliest Catch. I don't like crabs or fishing and yet this show is crack, my friends. And these fishermen are insane.

Heroes was awesome, per usual, and I love Sylar more and more each week. It's funny that my two favorite characters are such polar opposites on the show - Sylar and Hiro and yet they both want to make a difference in their own ways. Next week's finale should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Supernatural will most likely kill me dead tonight. But it was renewed and that makes me happy, especially considering how shows i love never tend to last.

Tomorrow I see Shrek 3 with my little bit. Should be fun, I hope.

May 9th, 2007

brothers on tv... @ 11:32 am

Current Mood: crazy
Current Music: npr

Heroes on Monday night was amazing. This show never ceases to intrigue me and fill me with various thoughts on what's going on and what could be. Sometimes it can make my head hurt, but with all the pretty, I don't really care.

Plus, it's possible that Nathan and Peter are more in love with each other than Sam and Dean Winchester. I never would've thought such a thing possible.

Speaking of Sam and Dean - haven't decided if I'm going to watch Supernatural this week or wait until next week so I can watch them together. I don't know any spoilers, but based off the preview, it's gonna hurt. And really, I don't like my boys hurting.

I may be a tad bit attached.

American Idol was silly last night. Did we really need a Barry Gibbs night?
